*The Elevator is available by guest request only. There is a fee to use, $250, and it must be arranged prior to check in. *There is a small, high shelf next to the upper balcony door at the top of the stair landing with safety items. This is where we keep the fire extinguisher for the upstairs area and a safety ladder that can allow escape off the upper balcony in the event of a fire. These items are stored up high to keep them out of the reach of small children* *I highly recommend you purchase an inexpensive travel and damage insurance policy. This protects you and gives peace of mind in the event you have unforeseen circumstances that require you to cancel outside of the refund windows on our cancellation policy. Airbnb makes this very easy by offering it at check out. Please note we are on the Texas Gulf and weather can be very unpredictable. We do not allow refunds or cancellations due to weather. Please review our cancellation policy, we have it set to "Firm" and we will adhere to this policy. Please Note our minimum age to book is 21

Neighborhood
We are located just off Texas State Hwy 87 in the heart of the Bolivar Peninsula. Copacabana Dr is a peaceful, neighborhood street with no direct driveable beach access. We have a private, local walking bridge to the sand, less than two minutes walk from the house. To access the beach by vehicle, drive the short distance back out to Hwy 87, turn left onto the Hwy, and turn left again onto Cove Dr. From there it's a straight shot down to the beach -"The Big Store" is really the only place on the peninsula to purchase essentials. They are the local all-in-one with a bank, gas station, groceries, hardware, gifts, beach gear, and take-out pizza. Their hours are 7 am-9 pm, seven days a week From Copacabana, turn left onto 87. You will see them about 1mi down on the right.

Location
We are located in a residential beach house neighborhood with no street parking. Our house offers plenty of parking on our property, out of respect for the neighbors, please park all vehicles in the driveway. Hwy 87, which runs the length of the peninsula, is the only access in and out of our neighborhood, we are located on a dead-end street. Rent a golf cart for your stay to get around or easily haul all that gear and food to the beach! Check our guest book for locations where you can rent or ask us for a recommendation, we are happy to accommodate. To get off the peninsula and visit adjacent attractions there are only two options: Turn right onto Hwy 87 which will take you to Winnie>Houston or go left onto 87 to Galveston Ferry>Ferry crossing to Galveston central.
